Intro: How Do I Move Forward in the Midst of Chaos?

It’s Time To Rescue, Reposition, and Recover.

Shifting Perspective

In a single word, as you reflect on the last eight weeks, how have you felt about your business? We’ve asked numerous clients and colleagues this same question, and up until a couple weeks ago the answers have been what you might expect: Uncertain, anxious, overwhelming, crisis. For us, that single word has been Rescue.

What we’re now seeing is a shift in those words, which also reflects a change in the way people are approaching their mindset. We’re now hearing words like adapt, change, adjust, plan, and build. It’s inspiring to be a part of the change that moves all of us forward, in the hopes that this crisis can bring out something positive in each of us, in our companies, and the world.

As each of us grapple with the new normal, I was recently reminded that the blunt uncertainty of this moment brought to light that the uncertainty has in fact always been here. Friedrich Nietzsche’s quote rings so true for us in this moment, that “Madness is the result not of uncertainty, but of certainty”.

A Process to Get There

Finding our way through the uncertainty requires a strong process. While we may not know the answers, we’ve helped organizations navigate as they find solid ground. Over the course of our upcoming blog series, I couldn’t be more excited to share some of those insights, tools, and questions we’re asking right now to help companies engage in the three phases of Rescue, Reposition, and Recover.

In our upcoming posts about the Rescue phase, we’ll get into the specific recommendations, tools, insights and mindsets that have helped our clients put strong plans in place, take action confidently, and secure the resources necessary to make decisions from a place of strength.

We’re driven every day to help values-driven organizations reach their next mountain peak. While the terrain is tough right now, we’re excited about the possibilities and look forward to being on the journey together!
